Designing and teaching regenerative ways of living, rooted in relationship with land and place

A little about me

I am a permaculture designer and educator working at the meeting point between people and the living landscapes that sustain us. My work centres on designing and teaching regenerative ways of living — helping people create resilient human habitats where food, biodiversity, community, and wellbeing can flourish together.

With a background in teaching, ecology and climate science and a diploma in permaculture design, along with my hands on experience in designing and running a 7 acre land restoration project, I combine ecological understanding with practical land-based skills and education. I teach permaculture courses, support landscape design projects, and work with individuals, communities, and organisations who want to deepen their relationship with place and participate in the restoration of living systems. I am currently training in landscape architecture, further exploring how thoughtful design can support thriving landscapes and communities.

My work

Over the years my work has taken many forms across design, education, and community initiatives. After many years of teaching, arts, environmental activism and exploring the world of permaculture through travel and volunteering, back in 2015 I founded and ran Organic Playgrounds, a company on a mission to rewild school grounds across the UK to reconnect young people with nature through living landscapes. This led me towards a core role with the Children in Permaculture (CiP) project, an international educational programme that supports educators to bring ecological thinking, systems awareness, and nature connection into learning environments for children and young people. Through CiP I designed and led several incredible training courses, including a whole new Permaculture Design course, developed especially for those working with children. Closer to home I have spent the past few years leading a permaculture programme at a small Steiner Waldorf school here in Pembrokeshire, integrating ecological design, nature connection, and practical environmental learning into the curriculum and developing the school grounds with the children.

In addition, I am an accredited trainer and assessment tutor for the Permaculture Association UK’s Diploma in Permaculture, supporting students as they develop advanced design practice and complete their professional permaculture training. I teach a wide range of permaculture focused courses and workshops for diverse audiences — from community groups and land stewards to organisations and businesses.

One of my greatest teachers over the years has been my permaculture restoration project, where land, learning, and daily life come together — creating a place where practical skills, ecological thinking, and respect for the more-than-human world can be shared.

I am also a mother of two, partner to the wonderful Pete, and lover of animals.

What I believe

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: that human beings can be a beneficial and harmonious part of the ecosystems we belong to.

With the right tools, practices, and ways of thinking, we can repair and regenerate habitats, whole ecosystems, and even our human cultures far more quickly than many people imagine. This journey does not need to be one of sacrifice or going without — it can be rich with joy, creativity, connection, and abundance.

I believe we owe it to ourselves and to all future beings — human and more-than-human — to bring our full creativity, wisdom, and skills to this work.

Learning in community

Community is an essential part of this journey. We need spaces where we can share ideas, celebrate successes, navigate challenges, and experiment together as we search for new ways of living.

That is why I have created spaces for learning both on the land and online. Alongside in-person courses, I am developing a series of online courses that can be taken at your own pace, designed to make this knowledge accessible to more people.

These spaces also bring together voices and perspectives from many teachers, elders, and wisdom keepers from around the world.

Those who join the courses also gain access to The Village — a shared community space where we continue learning together through conversations, resources, interviews, and masterclasses. Just as a village should be, it is a place to walk this path alongside others.

Walking the path together

I believe that having a guide whose perspective resonates with you can make a huge difference on this journey — someone to inspire, encourage, and help illuminate the path ahead.

For those who feel drawn to this work, I offer my experience and guidance in service to that shared journey.

Ultimately, the answers we need are already here — in the wisdom of natural systems shaped over millions of years, in the knowledge held within human cultures across time, and in the extraordinary creativity and imagination we carry as a species.

This living world deserves our full attention.

Let’s begin.
